Agile Project Management

OneDesk supports both traditional and agile project management. OneDesk lets you allocate agile points to your tasks and set point capacities to your projects. View burndown and velocity charts to easily visualize what your team has accomplished, what goals it has yet to reach, and if your team is on track to meet the project deadline. You can also use the Kanban board to manage workload distribution and easily change the statuses of your tasks or projects.

Agile points

Agile points (story points) are effort estimates. A total number of points (or points capacity) is assigned to a project or iteration. Tasks within the project are given an agile point value. You can then fill up the project with tasks, until the point capacity is reached.

Since some tasks will be overestimated and others under-estimated, we are hoping it will average out to about right. Experience will tell us how many points our team can accomplish in a given time-period.

Add points capacity from the project detail panel.

Status/kanban boards

Status (kanban) boards are frequently used in agile projects. In continuing with the philosophy of reducing the overhead of project management, a kanban board allows you to limit the number of in progress tasks and  visualize where tasks lie in terms of status for the whole iteration The status board also allows you to drag and drop a task from one column to the next to update the status of the task.

Burn-down and velocity charts

Burn-down charts show the reduction of open tasks in the project over time. Velocity charts compare time-boxed iterations to each other to see if what the team can accomplish is improving over time.
