Creating Multiple Knowledgebases & Portals





(Available for Enterprise level plans only)


Customer portals allow your customers to monitor and track the progress being made on tickets. Additionally, knowledgebases empowers customers to find the information they need on their own.


In OneDesk it is possible to have multiple customer portals or knowledgebases. 




Why use multiple Portals or KBs?

Each portal and knowledgebase you make can look different and collect/show different information. You can assign the different portals to send items (such as tickets) to different projects in OneDesk, allowing you to better organize incoming communications.

Additionally, if you have multiple portals and knowledge bases, you can place each one into a separate website, enabling you to direct customers to the appropriately-branded portal that sends items to their respective project(s) in OneDesk. This is great for companies that manage multiple brands or products and want to keep their customers engaged with the appropriately-branded portal or knowledgebase.


How to create another Portal

In the lower left panel click More Applications > Administration > Customer Apps > click Create Customer App

Select Customer Portal and give your portal a name. Keep Navigate to App Settings selected to immediately configure your new portal. 

Edit your new portal’s settings as desired. You may configure what properties and features are displayed in the portal as well as what webform is linked within the portal for customers to submit a new item. 


How to create another Knowledgebase

In the lower left panel click More Applications > Administration > Customer Apps > click Create Customer App

Select Knowledgebase and give your new KB a name. Keep Navigate to App Settings checked on to immediately configure your new KB. Configure the appearance settings and categories of your new Knowledgebase.
