Hotkeys / Shortcuts

OneDesk has a number of hotkeys to help you navigate or complete actions

What are hotkeys?

Hotkeys, or keyboard shortcuts, allow you to use a key or key combination to perform actions you would otherwise do with your mouse. Hotkeys allow you to navigate or trigger an action quicker.

OneDesk hotkeys

Navigational and application specific hotkeys. Navigational hotkeys are 'universal' in that they can be triggered from anywhere in OneDesk. Application-specific hotkeys only work in certain apps (i.e. the tickets app, users apps, etc.). Application-specific hotkeys usually require you to select something (like a project or ticket) before the action can be performed.

Navigational hotkeys

Alt-Shift J - Navigates you to ‘My Activities’, the 'Activities' audit log, filtered by actions you have performed in OneDesk.

Alt-Shift W - Navigates you to ‘My Timesheets’, the Timesheets app, filtered by the timesheets you have logged.

Alt-Shift T - Navigates you to ‘My Tasks’, the Tasks application, filtered by the tasks assigned to you.

Alt-Shift U - Navigates you to ‘My Profile’, your user detail panel.

Alt-Shift Q - Signs you out of your account.

Application-specific hotkeys

Application specific hotkeys require you to be within a certain application and have items selected.

Ctrl-Alt H - Share Projects - Can be used in the Projects, Customers, Users, Tasks or Tickets applications. To use the hotkey, first select the project, customer, or user. The project sharing window will open.

Ctrl-Alt E - Clone Projects / Item - Can be used in the Projects, Tasks or Tickets applications. To use the hotkey, first select one or more projects or tickets/tasks. The cloning options window will open.

Ctrl A - Archive - Can be used in the Projects, Tasks, or Tickets applications. To use the hotkey, first select one or more projects or tickets/tasks.

Ctrl-Alt Insert - Insert new item / project - Can be used in the Projects, Tickets, or Tasks applications. Will open the ticket/task/project creation form, depending on the application you are in.

Ctrl-Shift Right arrow - Indent - Requires you to be in the Tree view of the Tickets or Tasks app. A folder will be created containing the selected items ( indented in the new folder).

Ctrl-Shift Left arrow - Outdent - Requires you to be in the Tree view of the Tickets or Tasks app. You must also select a ticket/task which is inside a folder. The item will be taken out of the folder and placed in the same project.

Ctrl-Alt K - Remove finish to start links -  Requires you to be in the Tasks app. It will remove any start-to-finish relationships on the tasks.
