OneDrive / SharePoint Integration

What does the OneDrive / SharePoint Integration let you do?

The OneDrive / SharePoint integration allows you to easily link or attach files from these applications to your OneDesk tickets, tasks, or projects.

With the integration enabled, you have two additional options when you click ‘Attach File’ on tickets, tasks, and projects. You can still add files from your local storage, but additionally you can browse for and attach/link them directly from your OneDrive/SharePoint account. When you click 'Attach File' on the detail panel of ticket, task, or project you will be offered options to attach/link from OneDrive/SharePoint.

How to connect OneDesk to OneDrive/SharePoint

  • In your OneDesk account, navigate to Administration > Integrations.
  • Click 'Connect' beside the OneDrive/SharePoint integration.
  • The connect button will change to indicate the integration is now active.
  • Navigate to a ticket, task, or project detail panel and click 'Attach File.'
  • You will now have a new option in the menu attach or link
  • Select one of these and you will be prompted to login and authorize your account.
  • After authorizing your account you will be able to easily browse and attach/link files from the window.
  • You will not need to authorize or login each time you attach/link files from OneDrive/SharePoint.

Attaching vs linking file

Linking a file does not store the file in OneDesk. Rather, linking will allow you to open the file in its stored OneDrive/SharePoint location. Linking is useful over attaching when the file is being actively worked on and you want to view the most recent changes. Attaching a file will store a copy of that file to the item in OneDesk. Attached files are indicated in blue, while linked files are indicated in green.
